July 20th2020. The EC-funded project RECOPHARMA is proud to announce that it has been chosen to feature at the EC annual flagship event – “Science is Wonderful!”. The event team received 229 eligible applications, of which just 40 were selected, with RECOPHARMA being the only MSCA-RISE project among them.
This year, “Science is Wonderful!” will take place online from 22nd – 24th September and deliver an array of innovative, interactive digital activities highlighting some of the solutions that EU-funded research and innovation projects are developing to address the COVID-19 crisis and its aftermath, as well as the priorities that are at the core of both European and Global recovery efforts.
RECOPHARMA will be featuring to raise public awareness of how drugs and medicines that have been used to treat COVID-19 and other diseases can enter our environment, and how it is necessary to identify less toxic medicines and develop methods of recovering them through wastewater treatment. RECOPHARMA will demonstrate the development of solutions to recovering pharmaceuticals from wastewater in the context of treatment during the pandemic.
At the same time, virtual visitors will be able to experience the science online from their living room and contribute to ground-breaking developments through dynamic activities, design thinking and engagement with European and international researchers in a webinar Science Café. These interactive sessions will let participants contribute to propelling Europe’s recovery and pave the way to a green, digital, and resilient future.
