The EC has launched its largest research and innovation program ever in the shape of Horizon Europe. Within this, the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) will continue to support the career development and training of researchers in all scientific domains, based on transnational, cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. To support research excellent and host organisations from all over the world, the EC has resolved to adopt a unit costs system which will increase the flexibility and efficiency of researcher mobility. This will be funded by a budget of €6.8 B for MSCA for 2021-2027.
The structure of the MSCA programme under Horizon 2020 comprised five sub-actions, and this remains the same in Horizon Europe. However, for the purpose of clarification and simplification, these actions have been assigned new titles, as shown in Figure 1.
